4 days tour from Marrakech to Fes

Your journey begins with an early departure from Marrakech, driving through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), offering panoramic views of Berber villages and dramatic mountain landscapes. Along the way, you’ll stop to visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic kasbahs, known for its appearances in many international films. After lunch, continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” before heading east through the Valley of Roses to reach the beautiful Dades Valley, where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional riad or hotel surrounded by red rock formations.

After breakfast, the road takes you through the impressive Todgha Gorges, a dramatic canyon with towering limestone cliffs reaching up to 300 meters high, perfect for a short walk and photos. Continue through desert towns like Tinghir and Erfoud, known for fossils and date palms, as the landscape gradually transforms into vast desert plains. By late afternoon, you arrive in Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara Desert, where camels await to take you on a magical trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Watch the sunset over the dunes before arriving at your desert camp for dinner, traditional Berber music, and a night under the stars.

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. Return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga and continue toward Rissani, an ancient trading town and birthplace of Morocco’s current royal dynasty. The journey then leads through the lush Ziz Valley, one of the largest palm oases in the country, offering stunning contrasts between green palms and arid mountains. After lunch in Midelt, a town nestled between the Middle and High Atlas ranges, continue north into the Cedar Forest, home to the famous Barbary macaques, where you may stop to see and photograph these wild monkeys before reaching your hotel for the night.

On the final day, drive through the scenic landscapes of the Middle Atlas, stopping in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine architecture, clean streets, and cool climate. After a short break, continue to Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural capital. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your riad or hotel, marking the end of your unforgettable journey across mountains, valleys, and the Sahara Desert.
